GENERAL INFORMATION

The international conference PETIT – Parental Education together with ICT – Support for the New Generation continues the work carried out in the European project with the same name by the 6 partner organizations in Romania, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, Bulgaria and Finland under the coordination of Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning.

The project is co-financed by the European Union within the “Lifelong Learning” Programme, Grundtvig action.

The general objective of the project is to offer the educationally disadvantaged parents the opportunity to become responsible parents with regard to the psychological, relational and behavioural development of their own children, by improving their abilities, knowledge and skills needed in the family environment.

The specific objectives of the project are:

improving the family climate through better communication between parents and children;
fostering access for acquiring basic skills in using the information technologies (the Internet) in view of supporting and protecting the children in their relation with the network;
acquiring, structuring and promoting educational good practices at European level.

The main products of the project are:

Analysis of the good practices models existing at European level, in the field of parental education
Analysis of the situation of adults (parents) with educational disadvantage, aged between 20-55, in the European partner countries
Analysis of the target group’s needs
6 educational models of parental education and ICT
Analysis of the implementation and evaluation of the educational models
The Good Practices Guide of the project
Dissemination materials (flyers, brochures, posters, etc.)

People who are interested are invited to register for participation to the conference as well as to present papers on themes related to:

Models of parental education in kindergartens and schools
Communication between parents and children
ICT education for disadvantaged adults
Children and the Internet
Knowledge and skills necessary for parents in the family environment
Parents and lifelong learning
