General Information

The international conference "Intercultural Dialogue and Involvement through Volunteering" organized on the 5th November, in Bucharest, Romania, was the 3rd and last International Conference and continued the work carried out in the European project Dialogue with EU- The Voices of the European Citizens by the 5 partner organizations in Romania, Germany, Greece, UK and the Czech Republic, under the coordination of Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning, Romania. The project is co-financed by the European Union within the "Europe for Citizens" Programme.

The project aims at empowering citizens with the necessary knowledge and civic competences to express their opinions on issues like the European integration process or the EU policies and their impact by involving them in a series of activities where they will learn what mechanisms the EU makes available for them to give their opinions (forums, opinion polls, etc.).

These have been achieved by means of 30 national seminars (6 in each of the 5 partner countries), 3 international conferences and 2 national conferences, organized throughout the one year duration of the project.

In order to share good practices with other citizens and professionals, the project will also produce: CDs of the conferences, booklet of the project, CD of the project.

The International Conference in Bucharest is the last one organized within the project. People who are interested are invited to register for participation to the conference as well as to present papers on themes related to:

  1. Intercultural dialogue
  2. European projects for disadvantaged citizens
  3. Volunteering actions: involvement and results
  4. European institutions and citizens
