GENERAL INFORMATION
The international conference "Contribute to change: young women in political careers" continues the work carried out in the European project with the same name by the 3 partner organizations in Romania, Czech Republic and Northern Ireland (UK) under the coordination of Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning, Romania.
The project is co-financed by the European Union within the "Europe for Citizens" Programme.
The overall aim of all the actions of the project is to increase the participation of young women in the political life and to the vote by increasing their trust in the own forces.
The specific objectives of the project are
- To increase the participation of young women aged 16-35 in the political life and to the vote by increasing their trust in the own forces, with the help of workshops based on the scenarios and role play.
- To improve their knowledge on participatory democracy, the importance of their involvement in the political life at local and European level, but also the role of the vote.
The main products of the project are:
- Analysis of the target groups needs;
- Participatory workshops with young women in the 3 partner countries;
- Dissemination of information about the project through the networks associated to each Partner and to elderly people organizations in Europe.
- Success stories booklet - it will contain relevant stories, anecdotes, good practices that happened during the project implementation;
- DVD of the project - It will comprise the products and the positive experiences in the project in order to be able to share good practices in relation to the theme and activities of the project.
- Final dissemination conference (with conference CD);
- The website of the project.
People who are interested are invited to register for participation to the conference as well as to present papers on themes related to:
- Fostering action, debate and reflection on European citizenship and democracy;
- Women participation in political life;
- Active European Citizenship: participation and democracy in Europe;
- Promoting European Values (tolerance, mutual understanding, solidarity, etc.);
- Contributing to informal learning for active European citizenship.
