Objectives
The "Dialogue with EU - The Voices of European Citizens" project answers the following general objectives of the Europe for Citizens programme:
- "Giving citizens the opportunity to interact and participate in constructing a tighter-knit Europe, which is democratic and world-oriented, united and enriched by its cultural diversity, thus developing citizenship of the European Union." Through the events that will be organised throughout the project, the partnership wishes to provide the citizens in the different countries of the European Union with the opportunity to create dialog and debate on themes of European interest.
- "Enhancing tolerance and mutual understanding between European citizens, respecting and promoting cultural and linguistic diversity, while contributing to intercultural dialogue."
Within the 8 events scheduled in the 12 months of the project a real basis for intercultural
dialog will be created between the citizens coming from different cultures.
The following specific aims of the action 1: Measure 2.1: Citizens'projects of the Europe for Citizens programme are also addressed by the project: - "Collecting the opinion of citizens on some key European challenges for the future", by means of the booklet and CD of the project that will be developed at the end of the project.
- "Creating mechanisms that allow European citizens to develop civic competences, to formulate their views and opinions on the European integration process in the form of recommendations for policy makers at European level", by means of the 30 awareness raising activities of the project.
- "Encouraging the dialogue between European citizens and the institutions of the EU", through activities carried out within the project. The aim of the awareness raising activities and of the events organised is to inform as well as possible the citizens in order to encourage constructive dialog.
