About the project

"Dialogue with EU - The Voices of European Citizens" is a European project co-financed by the European Union within the Europe for Citizens programme.

The project starts on 1st January 2010 and ends on 31st December 2010.

The partnership of the project is composed of 5 organisations: Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning, Romania; Ballybeen Women's Centre, Northern Ireland; Institut Arbeit und Technik, FH Gelsenkirchen, Germany; Kendro Merimnas Oikoyenias kai Pediou, Greece; AKLUB Centrum vzdělávání a poradenství, Czech Republic.

The project aims at empowering citizens with the necessary knowledge and civic competences to express their opinions on issues like the European integration process or the EU policies and their impact by involving them in a series of activities where they will learn what mechanisms the EU makes available for them to give their opinions (forums, opinion polls, etc.).

This will be achieved by means of 30 national seminars (6 in each of the 5 partner countries), 3 international conferences and 2 national conferences that will be organised throughout the one year duration of the project.

Citizens'discussions will take source from practical examples as otherwise they cannot take shape or become a practical reality. The project will involve ordinary citizens from different social, professional and demographic backgrounds. Special attention will be paid to individual and collective opinion building.

In order to share good practices with other citizens and professionals, the project will also produce: CDs of the conferences, booklet of the project, CD of the project.
